Ingredients:

4oz of block margarine (e.g Stork)

4 Mars bars

4oz of Rice crispies

Table spoon of syrup

Half a large dairy milk block of chocolate.

Method:

Cut the margarine into squares and chop the mars bars up, and add the syrup all into a big pan. Melt them over a low heat until all blended together and smooth. Take off the heat and pour in rice crispies stir it all in thoroughly. Pour all into a greased tin and press it in. When cold melt down dairy milk and spread over the top, then leave to set.

Photo

Ingredients:

Two duck legs

Potatoes

Green bean

Garlic

Butter

Salt and pepper

Gravy powder

Recipe:

The first thing you need to do with duck legs is get a small sewing needle and prick the skin all over, Try not to prick into the meat, Just the fatty skin. This lets the fat seep out while cooking and makes the duck skin crispy.

Then place them in a Medium/Large oven dish. Place the duck legs close together in the middle. Make sure the oven dish is large enough that you have room around the edge for the potatoes later.

Salt the duck legs well, So much that you think you have done too much. Add a bit of pepper. Mix quite alot of oil with chopped or crushed garlic and pour over duck legs. (you want enough oil so that it covers the whole bottom of the dish thinly) Then put in the oven at around 150’c for a hour.

Next chop potatoes down the middle with the skin on so that you have lots of circles, Then boil until you can just stab a fork into it. (Don’t boil so much that the potatoes start to break apart and the skin comes off)

After the hour (ish) the duck should be looking cooked and the skin beginning to crisp. Then add the potatoes to the dish in the oil surrounding the duck legs, Add more oil and garlic if needed.

Then turn up the oven to 190’c for another 15/20 minutes to crisp everything up. While that is cooking boil green beans with lots of salt and pepper, Then they are cooked through drain the beans and put them back in the pan with a knob of butter, put on a low heat until the butter is melted and sticking to the green beans.

When everything is cooked, plate everything up and put some gravy powder and boiling water in a pyrex jug, Then add some of the oil from the oven dish which the duck was cooked in for gravy.

Pack of stewing beef

Stew/casserole type veggies.

Beef stock cube

Flour

Dumpling mix (optional)

Method:

Put a tablespoon (or more) of plain flour in a basin and season with salt and pepper. Toss the meat in this to coat the meat all over.

Cook the meat in hot oil until browned all over. Remove from the pan and put into a casserole dish and add raw veggies.

Put a little cold water in the rest of the flour in the basin and mix to a smooth creamy consistency (like making gravy).

Mix the stock cube with hot water and stir to dissolve, then add that to the “gravy mix” stirring so that it doesn’t go lumpy but thickens slightly.

Pour over the meat and vegetables. Season if necessary. Cover and cook in a slow oven for about 3 hours.

Ingredients:

8 Tbsp. butter, softened

1/2 c. granulated sugar

1 egg yolk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 heaping cup of sifted flour

1/4 c. Nutella spread

Method:

Mix the butter and sugar together until creamy. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla until well combined. Stir in the sifted flour. Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes to help firm it up for rolling later.

Remove dough from refrigerator and roll into a rectangle about 1/4″ thick. Spread Nutella on top of dough, leaving on finger width around all the edges. Roll dough into a log and return to refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut slices from dough and place on an ungreased baking sheet. (This is where some dental floss comes in very handy.)
Bake for 10 minutes. If you’ve cut thicker rounds, you will need to bake them longer. Watch for the edges to begin to color and remove from oven. Cool one minute on pan and transfer to cooling rack.
